Thamesmead Tornadoes • Our Story

More Than A Dance Class

The Thamesmead Tornadoes grew from a love of R&B line dancing into a community built around friendship, confidence, movement, fun and performance.

How It Started

WE ARE THE THAMESMEAD TORNADOES

Born in Thamesmead and powered by community, music and a love of dancing, the Thamesmead Tornadoes are a vibrant community line dancing crew bringing people together one step at a time. What started as a local line dancing class has grown into a community of dancers who learn together, laugh together and increasingly take their moves out on the road, performing at festivals, celebrations and community events across South East London.

We’re not about perfect dancers or taking ourselves too seriously. We’re about great music, great energy and the confidence that comes from getting on the dance floor and giving it a go. Our performances are fun, colourful and full of personality — but watching is only half the experience. We love getting audiences involved too, with opportunities to learn a routine, join the dance floor and experience what being a Tornado is all about.

Whether we’re performing on a festival stage, getting a crowd dancing at a community event or welcoming someone to their very first class, our mission is simple: Bring people together. Get them moving. And make sure they leave smiling. Based in Thamesmead. Performing across London. Community. Energy. Performance. BOOK US. JOIN US. DANCE WITH US.
